Original registrant discovered theft late last year.
Game developer LDW Software, LLC has successfully recovered the stolen domain name LDW.com through a UDRP.
The alleged theft appears to have happened in 2015, but the company didn’t become aware of the change until the perpetrator changed the nameservers for the domain name at the end of last year.
A complainant must show some sort of trademark rights in order to recover a stolen domain name through a UDRP. In this case, LDW is a game development company that has used the name since at least 2002. The owner registered the domain name in 1996, according to the complaint.
The alleged thief did not respond to the UDRP filing.
Douglas Isenberg of The GigaLaw Firm represented LDW Software.
