EBB Development withdraws opposition after Expensify alleges fraud.
I’ve written several stories about firms owned by or connected to Michael Gleissner making questionable trademark claims, including challenging Expensify on the expense report company’s Concierge trademark application.
Now a firm Gleissner is a director of, EBB Development Limited, has withdrawn its opposition to Expensify’s trademark application after a scathing rebuke to its opposition filing.
EBB Development Limited, through lawyer Roman Popov, filed oppositions to Expensify’s Concierge applications in September. Expensify responded in October and EBB withdrew its opposition right before Christmas.
In its answer to EBB’s filing, Expensify noted Gleissner’s firms’ questionable trademark applications based on foreign priority, including one for “The Home Depot”. Expensify’s attorney also wrote:
Opposer, Mr. Gleisnner in his capacity as the alter ego of Opposer, as well as the attorney of record, all committed fraud on the USPTO by their actions…
