GMO and Radix get good news from China.
Just a few weeks after approving .club, .VIP and .XYZ, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has approved two more domain names for sale and hosting within China.
GMO Registry’s .Shop and Radix’s .Site were both approved today.
The domain names that were approved earlier this month saw a nice uptick in demand from China in the week following the approval, so this news could spark demand for .shop and .site.
The latest approvals are also good news for domain name registries still waiting for MIIT approval. If MIIT approves a handful of domain names every few weeks, or even once a month, we could see dozens of new TLDs available for hosting in China by the end of next year.
