Promotion cuts the holding cost of premium domain names.
Rightside’s (NASDAQ:NAME) promotion on premium domain names has begun and will run through the end of June.
As I explained last month, the promotion enables you to pay just one year of premium pricing when you buy a domain name at participating registrars. After the first year, the wholesale renewal cost is only $10, even if you transfer the domain name to another owner.
The promotion is only good at these registrars: Dynadot, Epik, Name.com, eNom, United Domains, Chengdu West and Hexonet.
You can download a list of Rightside’s nearly 1 million premium domains at Name.com.
This deal is domainer-friendly because you won’t be stuck with longterm holding costs.
Of course, that doesn’t mean all of the premiums are now a good deal. You need to ask yourself if a potential end user will be willing to pay a nice multiple on your purchase price. If you pay $6,250 for Arlington.lawyer, do you think you’ll be able to sell it for much more?
I recommend downloading the list and sorting by price. Premium domains start at $37.50 at Name.com, so not all of them will set you back four or five figures.
