Company registers domain names for cloud and document management services.
Office supply company Staples (NASDAQ:SPLS) registered a handful of domain names yesterday that suggest the company will begin offering cloud storage services. My guess is this will be through some sort of white-labeling agreement.
Here are the domain names the company registered:
- staplesclouddocumentmanagement.com
- staplescloudrecordmanagement.com
- staplescloudrecordsmanagement.com
- staplescloudstorage.com
- staplesdigitaldocumentmanagement.com
- staplesdigitalrecordmanagement.com
- staplesdoccloud.com
- staplesdocmanagement.com
- staplesdocumentandcloudmanagement.com
- staplesdocumentcloud.com
- staplesdocumentmanagement.com
- staplesrecordandcloudmanagement.com
- staplesrecordcloud.com
- staplesrecordmanagement.com
- staplesrecordsandcloudmanagement.com
- staplesrecordsandcloudmgmt.com
- staplesrecordsandcloudmgmt.net
- staplesrecordscloud.com
- staplesrecordsmanagement.com
I was unable to find any announcement of the service this morning, so it likely registered the domain names in advance of announcing a service.

Companies register ridiculously long domains. . . is it really necessary?
