Big company in marketplace/peer-to-peer lending business buys .club domain name.
Marketplace lending company Lending Club, which has a market cap of nearly $3.0 billion, bought the domain name Lending.club for $25,000 from the registry last month. The domain name now forwards to Lending.club.
The domain name was one of two the .Club registry sold for over $20,000 last month; Startup.club found a taker at $22,500.
.Club was using startup.club for a program promoting partnerships with startups that want to use .club domain names. This program will now move to a page on .Club’s website.
The registry sold over $80,000 of premium domain names last month. After Startup.club, the highest sale was Hosting.club. Hosting.club sold in the WHD auction for $4,503.

In the good days of domaining a domainer will have registered the domain for few bucks and had made a nice flip. But times has changed, it’s pratically what I paid myself for lend.me from the registry few years ago…
