NHL gets NHL.net in time for the playoffs.
A World Intellectual Property Organization panelist has ordered the domain name NHL.net be transferred to the National Hockey League.
The NHL filed a cybersquatting complaint against the domain’s owner, who may have registered it as early as 1999.
Although the domain name hasn’t been parked or used in any way related to hockey, the owner’s bad reputation certainly tipped the scales against it. That and the domain owner didn’t bother to defend himself in the dispute.
Among other cases Jean Lucas of Domcharme Group has lost recently: CapitalOe.com (CapitalOne typo), underarmoue.com, bdbathandbeyond.com and molsoncenter.com.
