Registrars are discounting domain name registrations, and some of the sales have already started.
People in the United States are getting ready to unplug for a couple days to eat copious amounts of turkey. As soon as they’re finished digesting turkey legs and pumpkin pie, the holiday shopping season is officially underway.
I’ve made a couple posts on twitter soliciting information from domain name registrars and registries that are offering discounts for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. I’m posting details below, and companies that aren’t on this list are welcome to post details about their promotions in the comments.
Domain name registry Radix is working with about 20 of its registrar partners to offer big discounts on its top level domain names. The timing for these sales depends on the registrar.
101Domain is already discounting .website, space and .site domain names to 99 cents through November 30. .Online and .tech domain names are $4.99. From November 27-30, it is offering Rightside’s .rocks and .ninja domains for $4.99.
Hexonet is running the same Radix pricing from November 27-30.
Uniregistry has a number of domain names on sale starting on Thanksgiving and running for five days. In addition to the Radix sales, the company is offering .blackfriday and .Christmas domain names for only $4.00. Another timely domain name, .gift, is $3.00. Uniregistry will also offer .global domain names for just $9.50, a huge price break off the registrar’s normal $78.88 price. The registrar also has prices of $4.49 to $4.88 for .online, .tech, .ninja and .rocks.
Name.com has a coupon code for Monday, November 30. Use code CYBERMONDAY to get .club, .sale, .click, .link, .pics, .photo, .website, .space and .site domain names for 99 cents. The code is also good for $4.99 registrations in a number of other TLDs, such as .design, .ski and .audio.
