Makeup sample subscription service buys a domain name.
Birchbox, one of the most successful subscription services, bought a domain name through Sedo this past week.
It was just one of many companies buying existing domain names last week, including an SMS company that bought SMS.me, a negotiation coach that dropped the hyphen from its name, and a company with a .CH domain name buying the matching .com.
Overall, Sedo handled 672 transactions last week for a total of $1.2M.
Here’s a look at end user domain name sales from the past week on Sedo:
(You can view previous lists like this here. If you’d like to learn how to sell your domain names like these on Sedo, download this report.)
FinanceFox.com €9,800 – FinanceFox is an app for insurance, and its creators FinanceApp AG uses the domain name FinanceFox.ch.
NYCriminalLawyers.com $2,500 – Law Offices of Joseph Potashnik in Manhattan.
Negotiation.org $1,350 – The domain name was registered to a project management professional and consultant in Germany, who currently points it a website with his profile.
TheFlavorApprentice.com $799 – The Perfumers Apprentice, a company that sells ingredients for making perfumes.
TSWholesale.com $977 – Talk Straight, a telecom services and equipment company.
Camping-Equipment.com $2,150 – REIMO is back again, buying yet another domain name.
WindmillCanada.com $900 – there are a whole bunch of company names tied to this business, but all you need to know is it now forwards to the printed goods shop at WindmillCanada.ca.
Boldify.com $1,785 – LiveCareer, a resume creation service, must be looking to get bold.
SMS.me €4,400 – SMS company SMSGlobal Holdings. This is a great domain purchase for the company.
EmailMarketingSoftware.com $13,002 – Email marketing company 22 Times.
ModelMagazine.com $1,000 – The owner of ChildModelMagazine.com is getting ready to launch a site on ModelMagazine.com. It seems like they got a steal on this domain name.
ArrowBeauty.com $1,595 – Birchbox, the successful “beauty box subscription” company, picked up this domain name. There’s a New Zealand beauty products company with this name, so perhaps it is working with that company.
FarmFacts.com $15,000 – Law firm Hogan Lovells International LLP bought this domain, probably for a client in its agriculture practice.
TransAgro.com €8,750 – Proplanta GmbH & Co. KG, a German agriculture company.
Vicor.net $2,700 – Power equipment company Vicor Corporaton. They own VicorPower.com and VICR.com but not Vicor.com.
Assurian.com $4,303 – Treliant Risk Advisors just filed for a trademark for this name.
iNegotiate.com $3,275 – I-negotiate, a negotiation training company, negotiated to get a better domain than its current i-negotiate.com.
BillyLondon.com $2,200 – Clothing company Oxford Industries, which owns UK clothier Billy London. The domain name forwards to its existing site at billylondonuk.com.
PayPro.com £11,000- Payment provider PayPro BV bought the .com to match its PayPro.nl domain name.
Distinctify.com $1,999 – Distinction Group’s website is resolving to a registrar placeholder page, so I don’t know what it plans with this domain. It’s clearly a brand, though.
Holdy.com $4,500 – A real estate agent whose last name is Holdy now owns his .com.
Sofasogood.com $5,000 – OpusCDM forwards this domain to SimplySofas.in.
AspiredLiving.com $2,995 – extended car/healthcare company Virtual Care Provider, Inc.
