City hopes to keep NFL Rams in the city with new stadium.
On Saturday I wrote about National Car Rental registering domain names related to naming rights for a sports stadium.
I predicted that it was for St. Louis. St. Louis is working on a plan for a stadium to try to keep the National Football League Rams in town, and National Car Rental is based in St. Louis.
Turns out I was right. The company is pledging $158 million for National Car Rental Field, a proposed stadium on the Mississippi riverfront in St. Louis.
I sent that story to a St. Louis Post Dispatch sports reporter on Saturday. He should have taken a look earlier.

Can’t say that I like this news. We were hoping to get the Rams in the stadium that is being build in Inglewood. In fact, the owner of the Rams is actually the one building the football stadium. It’ll certainly be interesting to see how this ends up panning out, especially since Los Angeles is a much bigger market.

Still high chances L.A. gets the team. This is an effort to save the team.
L.A. is a bigger market but doesn’t always support its sports teams unless they’re winning. St. Louis is a sports town, but it’s also much smaller.
