Check out which domains people are letting go.
Want to take a second stab at domains registered under new top level domains a year ago? Curious what types of domain names people are giving up on after a year?
Domain Punch has a new section that shows which domain names were deleted from the zone file yesterday. You can sort by top level domain and length, as well as see deletion numbers for each top level domain name.
Keep in mind the domains on the list have just been deleted from the zone. This doesn’t mean they’re available yet, and most appear to still be in the redemption period or pending delete.
For yesterday, .tips leads the charts on domains deleted from the zone. It’s followed by .guru, .holdings and .today.
A sample of .tips domains on the list include bacon.tips, fee.tips and pedicure.tips.
I find it interesting to see which domains are being let go.

I bought a few domains in the nTLDs early last year, but I’ve let all but one go. I’m not a professional investor so I can’t afford to pay $20+/domain when I might be able to find a better .com, .us, or .biz for less than $10. The only one I’ve kept I’ve built into a small personal blog (or, more accurately, dreamed of maintaining as a blog).

After some early excitement, interest has gone a bit limp here & there; and this one’s dropping:
