Four geo domains among those releasing this week.
It’s a fairly busy week for new top level domain names, especially for those watching geographic top level domain names.
Monday
.МОСКВА and .Moscow launched today, and they will be very interesting to watch given the initial interest in Russian IDNs. The domains are cheap, both 101domain and DomainDiscount24 have prices around $10 or less.
.集团, Chinese for “conglomerate”, appears to have also launched today. It will be pricey; 101domain lists the domain for $789 for one year.
Tuesday
.LTDA, one of the first “corporate identifier” domains, launches Tuesday. LTDA is a corporate abbreviation for limited liability companies in Brazil and some Latin American countries. Expect to pay about $50/year.
.Paris also launches on Tuesday, which means Ville de Paris can quit bugging Americans that own domain names with “Paris” in them. Domains cost about $50-$60 in the new .Paris extension.
Wednesday
Donuts releases four domains in EAP and Rightside has two.
Donuts’ new domains include .pizza, .immo (abbreviation of the French term “immobilier”, meaning real estate), .network, .business. It will be interesting to watch the latter two, which are essentially long form versions of the existing domains .net and .biz, respectively.
Rightside issues .auction and .software in EAP.
Thursday
Finally, on Thursday another geo domain is released. .BZH is for Brittany, a western region of France. Domains will cost around $75.
