And you don’t even have to fly to the Caymans.
I asked a light-hearted question on this year’s domain name survey:
What one person in the domain industry would you most like to have dinner with?
The funny thing is that the #1 guy on the list is also the person most likely to literally buy you dinner at the next domain conference: Frank Schilling.
In fact, at Webfest last month he bought a bunch of domain brokers dinner. He’s the kind of person that if you bump into and say “Hey Frank, want to grab dinner?”, he’ll probably say yes.
The second person on the list might be a bit harder to get a dinner date with: billionaire GoDaddy.com founder Bob Parsons.
After hearing him speak at Webfest a couple years ago and at Go Daddy’s Registry Days this week, I can guarantee you that he could spend all dinner telling some great life stories.
Finally, the person with the third highest number of votes is TRAFFIC co-founder Rick Schwartz.

i don’t like that schilling guy. i remember he advised me in the great domains chatroom in 1999 that i probably shouldn’t spend $70 to register bussestocanada.com. he thought i was serious. i’ve never been serious in my life. i just don’t understand how come he’s gone way much farther in domaining than i have.

Timing is everything, putting everything on the line, seeing in thru to the finish line. Probably one of the nicest guys in the domaining world PERIOD!
