Kim Kardashian talks about her early entrepreneurial ventures and how she leverages social media.
Oversee.net CEO Debra Domeyer had a fireside chat with Kim Kardashian at Webfest today in Santa Monica.
Kardashian related her stories about early entrepreneurial ventures and how she’s leveraged social media to build her brand.
She told the audience of online entrepreneurs and domain investors about how she borrowed money from her dad to buy scarce shoes and resell them on eBay. Her dad made her sign a contract and pay interest if she was late — but she turned around and sold the shoes quickly at a profit.
She also joked that “Twitter is the best stalking device”. She related a story about one boyfriend who told her he was out of town, but then someone tweeted a picture of him at an L.A. gas station. (I guess that works well if all of your boyfriends are celebrities.)
Kardashian is ranked #10 on Twitter in terms of followers.
She said Facebook is most effective for getting your message out, and Twitter is “extremely fun”. But she said Instagram is her favorite social media platform right now.
“It’s such a piece of your personality,” she explained about Instagram. “You can choose to not even write anything, but post a photo.”
She said she likes it because the photo can mean one thing to you and something different to someone else.
Kardashian did not relate any stories about domain names.

Didn’t she steal Brandy’s moms credit card, and rack up $120K, back when she was a stylist for Brandy in 2004, when she actually had to hold a real job.

I saw Kim and she was just confused.
