Webfest auction is small but packed with great domains.
Last week I previewed some of the domains that were added to the Webfest auction taking place next week in Santa Monica.
Now that the list is finalized, let’s take a look.
The first piece of good news: there are only 55 domain names in the auction. That means no mammoth auction that takes five hours to complete.
The other good news: there are some great domain names in this auction.
Of course, that doesn’t mean any will sell (during the auction at least).
But some of the domains have the right reserve, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see some notable sales. Perhaps we’ll even see some completed before the auction begins as we have in years past.
Here are some of my favorites:
Bali.com – this is a great domain name, and likely worth the $750k+ price tag to the right person. But I don’t think the right person will show up to bid on auction day.
Message.com – it’s a good domain, but it appears the reserve price of $250k+ is up from previous auctions. This domain will eventually sell to a communications or messaging company.
Remote.com – another good one, but again at a hefty reserve of $100k-$250k.
Hum.com – I like this one. At $50k-$100k it may not be domain investor material, but it’s worth something in this range to a buyer branding a new business.
Briskets.com – it already has a pre-bid and no reserve, so someone will buy this. Maybe I just like it because I had some great brisket this weekend.
Which domains do you like?

Bali.com is the best. But unless they bring in the end-user buyers, the reserve won’t be met by your average domain investor.

None, at those prices!

@Andrew – Thanks for posting the list of domain names.I tend to agree with you that Bali seems overpriced at 750k for the expected audience.
But on the other hand, money seems to get cheaper everyday with the ongoing government monetary policies.
There are so many interesting websites out there, with more every day… so I’m interested to see how the auction ends and what price bali goes for, if any.
