Easier transfers and faster payments.
I sold the domain name EnglishDesk.com on Go Daddy a week ago, and have benefited first hand from changes made to GoDaddy Auctions.
Domain Name News first wrote about the changes a few weeks ago.
For a domain name sold through GoDaddy Auctions that is also registered at GoDaddy, the domain is transferred and payment processed within five days.
I listed the domain with Go Daddy Premium Listings. This let’s people buy a domain directly and get it instantly transferred into their account.
Additionally, Premium Listing domains are also available within GoDaddy Auctions at their “buy now” prices.
Until now, when someone bought a fixed price listing through GoDaddy Auctions there was still manual transfer process. I’ve been frustrated with a manual transfer in the past and almost felt it worth paying the higher premium commission to automated transfer.
Kudos to GoDaddy for making this change.

Slightly different topic.
What happens if you have the domain listed with GD premium (30% comm) and also AfternicDLS premium (20% comm)?
And, what happens if you have different fixed prices? ($ 3k with GD and $ 2.5 with A.)
If I recall correctly, with the afternicdls program the registrar can ask a higher price and the difference goes to the registrar (GD).

@ wondering – Good question as it pertains to the GD Auctions site. I suspect priority is given to GD Premium, but let’s take a look.
With SedoMLS the registrar can add to the price; I don’t believe they can with Afternic.

Why post at GD Premium then, why pay 30%, when the buyer gets the end result pretty much?
Andrew Allemann says
@ Ryan – I understand what you’re saying. There’s still some sales friction making a buyer create a GoDaddy Auctions account (which costs money) and go through the process. But it’s a steep discount.

Another dilemma is getting paid, why does it take 45 days to get paid via PREMIUM listing, and 5 days via auction, and you take an additional 20% hit, everything seems so out of wack.
Andrew Allemann says
@ Ryan – They’re working on the premium payments.
