Long time domain industry exec steps down.
Sedo has just confirmed a rumor that started percolating recently: COO Jeremiah Johnston is leaving the company.
Johnston will remain General Counsel to the company as he opens his own private practice.
Honestly, with Johnston’s involvement with all of the company’s legal business I had kind of forgotten that he was also COO.
He was instrumental in bringing resources and money to Internet Commerce Association, and he will continue on as the association’s president.
In a statement released by Sedo:
“With the growing awareness about the importance of domains, the launch of new gTLDs and growing debate over internet regulations, it is an exciting time for IP law,†said Johnston. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to continue my work with a company I truly believe in, while taking advantage of an important opportunity to dive more deeply into issues that are affecting the Internet on a much broader scale.â€

“peculating” should be “percolating”

fixed typo, thx

I don’t think he is concurrently CEO and COO. I believe he was the COO, not the CEO.

Jeremiah is a consummate professional, and he has done quite a lot for the domain industry through his support and work with the ICA and other areas.
I wish him the best and great success in his private practice venture.
