SnapNames Increases Prices on Deleted Domain Names

Cost to get deleted domains increases from $59 to $69.

On Tuesday SnapNames will increase its minimum fee for catching fully deleted domain names by $10 to $69.

The fee increase only applies to domains that go completely through the deletion cycle and are deleted by the registry. It does not apply to domain names auctioned off through registrar partners and other sellers.

Domains auctioned through registrar partners don’t go completely through the deletion cycle. Registering fully deleted domain names is a much more intensive process for backordering services because they have to compete with hundreds of competing registrars vying for the same names at the same time.

Any previously placed bids at $59 will be grandfathered.

SnapNames did not provide a reason for the price increase.

No wonder, with registers like Name.com, Dotster.com cherry picking all the best domains on our back order lists ;)

Snaps gotta be losing a fortune compared to before.

$10 does not seem like much, but when you are backordering a lot of domains it does ad up. It will certainly influence my decision. I will give NJ and Pool a chance now as well.

Probably need to help pay off all the bidders they had to compensate in the Halvarez fiasco!

It’s bad because I have bought quite a few doamins via snapnames.

From now on, will have to be more strict and selective.

Perhaps it’s due to our Congressmen allowing the Federal Reserve to print money hand over fist to “stimulate” the economy? INFLATION (currency devaluation is the more accurate term) is in the air folks.

Well just another excuse to raise my domain prices.

Isn’t it amazing..everytime I go into a store I notice that prices are always on the rise. I have raised the prices on all of my domains at least 15%.
