.Com and .Net registry may be looking to remake its image.
VeriSign has filed a slew of trademark applications for “V” this week. But before you flip out, the company isn’t trying to trademark the letter itself. Instead, it appears the company is giving its stylized “v” logo a new look.
The six related trademark applications feature a number of styles, but all feature a stylized letter V with part of the right side missing, creating a diamond shape protruding from left half of the V. One version has the V in a blue circle, with the VeriSign name off to the right.
The applications were filed on December 1. It’s possible the makeover has to do with the company recently selling off its security division to Symantec.
