Domain registrar brokers some expensive dirt.
Go Daddy has sold the Dirt.com domain name through its aftermarket service for $100,000. The buyer is using a whois proxy service to protect his identity. The “coming soon” page at Dirt.com hints that the site will be about celebrity gossip. Dirt.com was previously a forum aimed at uncovering corporate malfeasance. Some of its targets (including Walmart) are probably pleased that the site will now be focused on Jennifer Aniston and George Clooney.

probably one of the best buys this year imo
Meyer says
It doesn’t look like EventsUSA,com has
changed ownership.
It is a NameMedia domain.
They have it listed on their website
for $ 5,988.
And, it sold for $ 3,500 thru Godaddy?
It looks like TheLendingStore was also
NameMedia’s.
However, that one changed ownership.
I only checked 3 domains and 2 were NameMedia.
🙂
Andrew Allemann says
@ Meyer – they do sell a lot of NameMedia inventory

Dirt.com at 100K?
One. Great. Buyer. Deal.
Bet Rick S. would have gotten at least 250k if not 500k-1 million out of the buyer/s.
DR.DOMAIN says
Yeah…the buyer of DIRT is feeling pretty savvy right about now.
BEACH ACCESSORIES makes sense as a category…but that is a tough spell.Seller won.
