Domaining.com Launches Traffic Domains Marketplace

Marketplace deals exclusively with domains that receive traffic.

Francois Carrillo of Domaining.com has launched a brand new marketplace for selling domains that get traffic. In keeping with Carrillo’s love of great domain names, the marketplace is aptly named TrafficDomains.com.

Even more exciting for me is that Carrillo has chosen to use DNW Certified Stats to authenticate traffic stats on the site. One of the big challenges to buying domains with traffic is getting accurate information from the seller. By requiring users to use DNW Certified Stats when listing a domain, TrafficDomains.com brings more transparency to the process.

To list a domain on TrafficDomains.com you enter its details along with your DNW Certified Stats certificate number:

TrafficDomains.com then grabs traffic and revenue data directly from DNWStats.com and displays it with your listing, as well as a calculation of the price multiple:

You can also automatically add stats to your listings on Carrillo’s other marketplaces, including the popular BargainDomains.com, as well as PremiumDomains.com, flipping.co, and Catchy.com.

Look for other sites and services to integrate DNW Certified Stats in the future.

You’re smart, Andrew! You’re leveraging your name and reputation into a branded product, the first of its kind. You should! DNW is one of the leading domain blogs on the web, a business in itself. You built a name for yourself, why shouldn’t you release a product?

    What’s next?

    Congratulations! :)

You have to be a paid member now to use his sites…fail.

Too many places I can look at domains for sale for free.

Out of all his names, I like “TrafficDomains.com” the best. Smart move using DNW Certified Stats. I think that will expedite the usage of both sites/services.

you have to pay to even view domains?

Andrew, just tried to check it out. Looks like I won’t be using TrafficDomains.com since I can’t view without paying.

I understand having to be a member to bid or sell, but not even being able to view these domains will doom this service.

Do you have a list of other auction vendors you can share where we can see your service in action?

  6. September 9th, 2010 | 7:07 pm

Same here. How many listings am I going to see once I pay?

This is the message I got: (unedited)

You have not enough credentials to can access the listings!

This marketplace requires a “Domainer membership” to can watch, bid or buy domains.
Please upgrade your membership if you are interested to buy names.

    END

I give Francois a lot of credit for trying so many different business models and his contributions to this industry but I think he needs to give things time to blossom before charging. This is a good example.

Why can’t he just charge a commission to the seller on the sale.

Limiting buyers is not going to generate many sales.

    Good luck.

again another fail service from Francois!
he always comes up with half backed services. I haven’t tried a single website of his, where I didn’t end-up frustrated!
very basic services, very poor websites and he’s asking for fees and memberships!

You don’t have to pay any membership to watch domains for sale in our marketplaces.

TrafficDomains.com is the exception due to the controversial nature of some listed domains and the fact most buyers don’t want to promote their domains to the public, we have chosen to set a private access-only to this domain marketplace.

There is a huge demand for this kind of domains by big investors, if you submit domains and accept to sell them for a reasonable year multiple of ppc revenue they should sell very quickly. Have buyers is absolutely not a problem and the fee is absolutely not a barrier, the ones that think that are in the error.

It’s more difficult to have domain owners submit domains with traffic/revenue because it’s a rare resource.

Thanks for the explanation. Maybe you can post the number of domains listed so potential subscribers can have an idea about how many traffic and revenue domains they would see.

Maybe even list the traffic and revenue per domain but have people log in to see the domain.

This way people can see behind the curtain a little bit but not too much.

    Do you charge commission?

Do you have the domains under contract?

Rob, I will consider your suggestions in the next update.
For the moment the urgency is really to get domains inventory as the buying side is almot cover with the buyers we already have registered in our marketplaces.
The true challenge is locate owner of typos and traffic/revenue domains and have them submit domains for sale.
Like in any of our marketplaces the sales commission is 8% escrow fee included and there is no exclusivity.

Seems like a good service to me and not making it entirely public is not a bad choice. Not only does it help the seller protect their asset, but it keeps the domainer circle a little more tightly knit.

You may want to consider giving the seller the option to post their stats/site to the public and/or have different levels of memberships. Or show a count of domains in the list as mentioned above.

Either way, keep up the good work Francois & Andrew.

It sounded like a good idea, but I could not get it to work and was ask to ‘try again later’.
    Anyway, Thanks for the info.

    @ Nicco – what didn’t work?

    @ Nicco – what didn’t work?

I created a page with a carousel/magazine book, supplied by WIX and when I added the HTML code it first flickered like a silent movie and than reduced itself to a quarter of the original size.

I was very disappointed because I need to add HTML to ma site(s).

Unfortunately I cannot use WIX because of this problem and now I am looking for a non-flash HTML editor elsewhere.

    Any suggestions?

  15. September 23rd, 2010 | 9:20 am

Sorry forget the previous post about WIX.

The problem wth DNW was, as already stated that it just said to come back later, becuase there was a problem.

This happens after I added a few hundred domains and the SEDO info.

I have not rechecked it yet.

  16. September 23rd, 2010 | 11:15 am

Nicco, it should be working now. Sorry.

  17. September 23rd, 2010 | 11:40 am

OK, thanks I’ll try again later.
