Those prices appear high for a three-word domain but in the end if the buyer pays they have their own rationale for why they are willing to spend X. I don’t focus on education domains but have a few decent ones. It will be interesting to see how they monetize these sites (lead gen I suppose).

Most good education keywords paired with “online” are usually worth a nice sum. The two domains have a high CPC due to the “online” leading the college degrees.

College degree and college degrees are names that stand alone as valuable online education real estate.

These domains can be used a number of ways. There’s big money in monetizing these, as there is with job domains.

$18,000 is a small sum to pay for onlinecollegedegrees.com. If I had the money, I would definitely invest into that domain. I would use the domain to lead my education domains.

As for the student loan anchor, there is still demand to seek online education. It is quickly becoming the preferred option, as opposed to traditional classroom education.

Although online colleges charge a fortune, they still manage to fill courses. Even traditional colleges have considered reducing their classroom through adding online courses, which will likely offset budget constraints.

High schools are also looking to online education due to California’s budget crisis.

“Online education” related domain names have always been good money makers. Their cpc rates speak for themselves. It’s not uncommon to see a consistent cpc of above $2.00, and up to $11.00 in limited occasions.

The niche is growing as many find it easy to manage their life style and advance their education at the same time. It was unfortunate that I unloaded a lot of the better ones before I realized their value.

I still own a lot of the 3 word categories which are mainly geared toward more targeted traffic. As a result, there a lot of the 3 word domain names in that category that do better than the 2 word domain names. For example, online degree vs online degree programs or online college degree.

    Regards,

    Henry.
