FreeMarket.com Proves It’s a Free Market at $93,000

FreeMarket.com leads domain name sales for the week.

Hey, it’s a free market out there. That means the price of a domain name is dictated by how much someone is willing to sell it for and how much someone is willing to pay. A prime example: FreeMarket.com, which Sedo just brokered for $93,000.

Another example of the free market at work: HighInterestSavingsAccount.com, a four word, 26 letter domain that sold for $18,000. Now if only I could find a savings account that pays what they paid a few years ago.

FreeMarket.com, nice… will be interesting to see who the buyer is and what they have planned for it

freemarket.com was a website with decent traffic and revenue. I am not sure the 93K was for the name alone.

@adinfinite – FreeMarket.com looks to be only sporadically developed over the years, and often times parked. Compete.com doesn’t show much traffic either.

I was after FreeMarket.com for almost a year now. The guy wanted like $250k back in 09′ and then about 2-3 months ago he emailed me again and he dropped down to $170k’sh.

He kept referencing to eBay and how eBay uses the translated domain known as “Mercado Libre” (Spanish version of “free market”) and uses MercadoLibre.com in the 12 Latin American countries where they have a presence.
