Craig, thanks for creating why park. I am a big fan and have about 80 sites with you. I hear that there is a jobs app on the way. Any new news on that? Thanks, JH

We don't have that planned yet, but it's something we've talked about at least. The web directory would be the closest match at this time, since you can set the monthly cost and advertisers can signup directly.

Okay....I see the difference. That is substantially different.

Didn't I hear that there was an app coming that will allow us to sell ads on our WhyPark sites? I think that could really be beneficial also.

Thanks for the very thorough explanation Craig and taking the time to write it. :)

There are a lot of differences between Domain Apps and DevHub.

First, we really keep the user experience on the domain, rather than pushing a visitor off to another site to read the full article or search from a widget to be taken to another site to see the result. I think the biggest difference is our integration of the direct relationships we have with top-tier feeds; they're direct, not syndication deals. So, you're getting more revenue. We're owned by Parked.com, so we have all of the same feeds. Also, we focus more on being able to manage and develop in bulk where DevHub is on a per-site basis. The types of clients we have are different though, so they're simply different models to accommodate each group. What they have is great for the types of clients they have, but we really develop based on feedback we get from our customers. So, there's bound to be some overlap, but a lot of big differences as well.

Yes, some sites on WhyPark do better than others on search engines, but it depends on so many factors. Has the customer added any custom pages? Are there new, relevant incoming links being added, which is huge? Has the domain been banned in the past before being moved to WhyPark? I can tell you that a huge portion of our traffic comes from long tail searches and competitive terms on Google, Yahoo and Bing. We have a very open conversation on our forum (forum.parked.com) that discusses what people do with their WhyPark sites to ensure they do well, gain traffic and continue to be indexed consistently.

Feel free to email me at craig@whypark.com with any questions or concerns. If you're a Parked or WhyPark customer, you can signup on the forum and discuss anything with WhyPark customers and our staff.

Thanks,
Craig
