Help Pick the Date for the Austin Domainer Weekend

A deductible trip to Austin is in your future.

Austin, TexasThis fall I’ll be hosting a domainer dinner in Austin, TX. The original idea was to have just a simple dinner for locals, but I’ve had a number of requests from out-of-towners to have the event in conjunction with a University of Texas football weekend. So the theme will be “Come for dinner. Stay for the weekend.” We’ll probably have dinner and a night out on 6th Street on the Friday before the game. Because tickets are scarce, everyone who wants to go to the game will be on their own for that part.

Tying the event to a football weekend limits the possible dates. There are two options where Texas faces off in big games that aren’t in October (when there are three domain conferences scheduled).

September 25 vs. UCLA – this will be a huge game. The downside is it might still be hot outside.

November 13 vs. Oklahoma State – should be a good Big XII conference matchup. Weather should be cooler, but you might be travel weary after October.

    Hey andrew, hostingcon is headed your way in July. Why not then ? There’ll be a lot of domain companies in town and possibly domainers.

    One vote here for the UCLA game – I’ll gladly fly-out from LA to Texas either way – sounds like a great weekend trip!

    I can put a couple people up for the weekend, to those coming from out of town. I’ve got a fairly spacious bachelors pad not far from downtown, and can offer up a futon and an oversized couch. leaning towards September, but easy either way, it will be a blast
