12 Domain Names to Bid on in Today’s Geo Domain Auction

A dozen picks for today’s auction.

GeoDomain Expo’s online domain name auction held in conjunction with SnapNames ends today at 3:15 pm EDT.

There are 805 domain names in the auction and so far 10 domains have met their reserves. The highest bid is $5,590 for BusinessTravelers.com.

I have filtered the list and found 12 domain names that seem like values within their reserve ranges. On some of them they’re probably only values at the low end of the reserve range.

Don’t get me wrong — there are lots of other good domains in the auctions. But the other ones that popped out to me seemed like they were priced much higher than current market prices.

Indiana.biz, Flagstaff.biz, Johannesburg.info, SaintPaul.info – all of these have no reserve, with Indiana.biz already having a bid. A couple years ago I wouldn’t hesitate to pay $2500 or so for a city/state .biz or .info. But given the looming release of new TLDs I think there will be downward pressure on these. Still good values at these prices.

CharlestonProperties.com – with no reserve, I think this is a good bet

ConventionCenter.org $2,500-$5,000 – lots of uses, good value at low end of range

FamilyCampground.com $500-$1000 – a popular search term, other TLDs are registered

FamilyVacation.com 25k-50k – not sure if the plural version is better, but still a fantastic domain name

GreenwichVillage.com 10k-25k – Seems like it would be good at the low end of the range, although I’m not an expert on Manhattan.

HoustonBankruptcy.com $500-$1,000 – Huge city, big money topic

MontgomeryForeclosures.com – no reserve – a couple “CityForeclosures.com” domains have sold for $500-$1,000 recently, although Montgomery is a smaller city

WineryTours.com – $5,000-$10,000 – high end vacation product, depends on where the reserve falls

    Those are 12 good geo domains. Another highly brandable domain also on in the Geo Auction is AffordableVacation.com with low opening bid range of $5,000-$10,000.
