Media company buys domain name Pilot.com.
Media conglomerate Hearst has purchased the domain name Pilot.com for $300,000. Hearst is well known for publications such as Cosmopolitan, Esquire, and the San Francisco Chronicle. A review of Hearst’s products does not show much related to “Pilot”, so we’ll have to wait to see what the company is up to. Domain brokerage Sedo handled the transaction from a private seller.
Sedo also brokered the sale of Nasty.com for $200,000 to a different buyer. That domain is still in the transfer process. Another buyer picked up NoStrings.com and NoStringsAttached.com for a total of $75,000.

[Note: The original title of this post, which was up for less than an hour, may have been misunderstood to suggest that Hearst bought both Pilot.com and Nasty.com. Of course, it only bought Pilot.com.]

At first I thought your title was stating Hearst purchased Nasty.com as well, which would be a little odd. 🙂
Andrew Allemann says
Jamie – yeah, I noticed that so I made a quick fix 🙂
Jamie says
Since the whois hasn’t updated yet…. you still hold a chance they were the buyers. 😉
Bill says
They bought UGO Networks a few years back which happened to buy http://www.flashplayer.com from me.
It’s nice to see larger companies backing in buying mode.
