biking is a popular term for mountain biking - not sure whether it's used as much for road biking. The term 'mountain biking' is actually more than twice as popular as the term 'biking' according to the Google Keyword Tool, with 110k/49.5k exact match monthly searches respectively.

Here's the thing about that name - nobody uses the word "biking". I don't go "biking" I take a bike ride, go for a ride or something else.

great name, but might be tough.

Jack, I disagree. A lot of people turn to bikes for recreation. You've got motor-biking, recreational bikes, professional biking etc. I am sure lots of people buy their bikes/bike parts etc online too, and with biking.com you have the category killer.

The same goes for boating.com. Both great names.

how will you make money with this biking domain? Only options I see are ads. Which means you need a ton of marketing dollars to get the traffic. Then you must keep them coming back.

Only thing that would make sense is to start your own line of bikes and brand them through this domain.

Any other ideas?
