DomainSponsor‘s DOMAINfest Global conference returns to Los Angeles next month with a few changes. I interviewed Oversee.net CEO Jeff Kupietzky (Oversee is parent company of DomainSponsor) to learn more about the conference. DOMAINfest is typically the largest domainer-focused domain conference of the year, drawing in 600+ people. In this episode of DNW radio, you’ll learn:

I tried to read the article with an open mind but Jeff’s comment about the shill bidding at Snapnames:
“that incident has allowed us to continue to talk directly to our customers, and we are very confident that process is going well. And what people are telling us is it’s time to move on and focus on how we grow the industry.”
Really? People are telling you to move on Jeff? I didn’t know you were dwelling on the issue. Actually this is the first thing you said publicly that I know of.
Andrew, I hope you don’t mind a little constructive criticism but you totally sold yourself out here.
Jeff clearly used you to avoid any talk about Brady and used the ENTIRE show to promote his show and you totally bought it by closing with:
ANDREW: Excellent. I’m sold. I’ll be there.
Jeff says about the attendance: “we expect to have over 600 people.”
Really? Over 600 people? Has any domain show ever had 600 people? I’d be surprised if more than 100 go to this show. With comments like these and the lack of comments on Brady and Snyder, Oversee continues to bleed credibility in my opinion.
Andrew, why didn’t you press him on the Brady issue? Did he tell you he wouldn’t do the interview unless you let him promote the show?
Jeff, why do you continue to hide from commenting on Brady and Snyder’s ties to Brady?

Rob, the radio show was about DOMAINfest, not the SnapNames scandal. I asked the one question as it pertains to the show. And I think he’s right, most people have moved on.
Last year’s show had 600+ people.

Would I be wrong to assume that you asked him for an interview about the Snapnames scandal and he declined?
People may have moved on but they certainly have not forgotten and MANY questions remain but I guess I can “move on” too.

I have read how serious this matter is since it all broke and you gave it one powder puff fluff limp side bar and yes, K danced it off? and you let it happen, maybe you should take some time and watch a little Chris Mathews on MSNBC’s Hardball as he gets to the heart of a matter wehn a gust bobs and weaves?

Thanx for the interview! That and the DomainFest website paint a picture of a domainer’s event to one who has never attended, such as myself – maybe next year!
On the topic of SnapNames, I am impressed SnapNames.com homepage loads with a banner prominently displayed, linking to an FAQ about “inappropriate bidding.” New to this industry, I may be unaware of that news, but SnapNames announced it by prominently displaying an ugly banner! It seems like SnapNames is trying to make good.
