Dan Warner Joins DomainAdvertising.com as CEO

Warner joins Directi’s new venture.

Dan WarnerA familiar face in the domain name world is joining Directi’s DomainAdvertising.com as CEO.

Dan Warner, previously the Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Operation Officer of Dark Blue Sea, the company that runs Fabulous, has joined the company and already hit the ground running.

Warner explained how the company plans to shake up the domain industry:

We will be doing the exact opposite of most domain companies. Significant capital, human resources and infrastructure will be used to accelerate internet advertising innovation and design. We expect that many of the other players in the industry will look like they are standing still or going backwards in comparison to our scheduled advancements.

DomainAdvertising was launched at the most recent TRAFFIC conference in New York City.

Warner will lead an initial team of 30 people at DomainAdvertising.com, but will also have access to Directi’s 500 person employee base.

I miss the modesty of Dan in the industry. The exact opposite of what you get from other big wigs in the domain business.

    hahaha

Dan will do well for DomainAdvertising.
He is extremely knowledgeable about the ppc category. Plus, je is well connected with G and Y.

    I wish him well.
And, I look forward to his next white paper.

How is DomainAdvertising.com’s service different from a modified leasing service a la Sendori, which is proposed at http://domainmart.com/news/Domain_Names_as_a_Media_Channel.pdf?

Will the offering be structured to fit the advertising agencies’ established acquisition procedures? Or is such re-structuring irrelevant?

I read their site, sent them emails, read everything I could find about them, but in the end it sounds like Sendori.

Also, they speak of their distribution partner networks, but speak of going directly to the advertiser.

So which is it? Are they reselling the traffic to Sendori and the like and giving us mediocre payouts or are they going direct and finally getting us some real income that has been being held back by Yahoo and select parking companies (not to mention shaving)?

After all, at this point in the domain game it is TOTALLY about the money now as parking is suffering horribly.

On a side note, I wonder what, if any, precedent has been set as to how UDRP’s handle redirects to advertiser sites. Will they also ridiculously claim this is non-use?

It’s the only parking service supporting Domaining.com

    We highly recommend it.

    Why does that sound wrong?
