PITCHfest and LAUNCHfest Come to DOMAINfest

Two business competitions coming to DOMAINfest conference.
Oversee.net wants to know, “what would you do to develop Planners.com?”
That’s just one of ten domain names contestants in DOMAINfest Global’s LAUNCHfest can submit a development plan for. Contestants submit a plan for developing one of the domain names, and pitch it to a panel of expert judges during the January contest. The winner will get to go through with their plans by leasing or buying the domain name. If they opt to lease the domain, they won’t have to pay for the first year of lease payments.
DOMAINfest will also feature PITCHfest, where entrepreneurs can present their innovative product to a panel of judges and show attendees. This is a great way for any company releasing a new internet marketing or domain product to get an early boost. It reminds me of the popular DEMO and TechCrunch 50 conferences. A winner will be selected by the judges and audience using real time text message voting.
The conference included a similar program at its January 2007 conference called FastPitch.

Sounds like a copy of T.R.A.F.F.I.C. TEST TRACK to me.
@ Howard – except that they announced it before TRAFFIC announced its TEST TRACK and they did the same thing back in 2007.
and TRAFFIC copied Shark Tank.
It looks like someone is copying my blog name.
To the people that know me, I did not make the above posting.
@ Domain Investor 2 – that’s the problem with using a generic
domainhandle, eh?it seems to belong to Portfolio Brains, LLC
So… you submit ideas for development and the grand prize is… you get to buy the domain name?
Let’s do this with all of my names then.
I’d love to hear ideas for my domains and then sell them as a reward.
I love domainfest — but I’m not sure how well this might go over unless the sales prices are WAY low.

@ Aron – yeah, I don’t quite understand the Launchfest one, especially at the prices they’re offering the domains for. Pitchfest makes since, though.
r.case – that’s Oversee
I am sorry Domain Investor. You clearly are well known by your handle. Maybe this is you writing and you don’t even realize it. Maybe this is a 3rd person who uses the “unique” Domain Investor handle. I hope Andrew is okay with all of this.
Seems like little to no reward for doing any of this. So many better venues to pitch/present it seems unless it were domain related… and do we really need a live event to pitch domain services? It’s not like this is a big industry that doesn’t talk a lot.
Howard Neu copied my beard!
IMHO Halvarez should win the business plan competition.
Happy Friday, all!
John
I would NEVER wear a Pope costume!!
Now a Rabbi maybe……that’s Ok
I would pay to see such an unorthodox rebbe.
You haven’t seen me in a beard singing “If I Were A Rich Man”. The line was out the door!
“The line was out the door!”
I have heard you have a nice singing voice.
And, you love to perform.
But, we don’t have a picture of you dropping your pants like we have of the pope.
Maybe, Barbara can leak one to Diane to see if there is any difference between a pope and rabbi.
