Nora Nanayakkara gunning for Non Executive Director position at Nominet.
Sedo Business Development Director Nora Nanayakkara is running for election to Nominet’s board as a non executive director. Nominet runs the registry for .uk domain names, the country code for United Kingdom. Elections close Thursday, July 8.
Nominet members and Tag Holders can vote in the election. Members pay an initiation fee and annual fees. So-called Tag Holders are members who have access to discounted registration rates and automated systems.
Nanayakkara is writing about her vision for Nominet and what she would do if elected on her blog. She posted her vision on Sedo’s web site:
-Developing a Nominet strategy that reflects the realities of the .uk namespace
-Providing the Board with rounded exposure to the wider stakeholder community, including positive examples that clearly demonstrate the value of the secondary market and of direct navigation traffic, as part of my feedback for policy development.
-Working with the performance evaluation structure selected to support Nominet’s executive management in achieving the company’s vision and strategic objectives
-Being a positive, constructive and balanced Member representative so Nominet can develop a corporate governance structure that is capable of handling change and is equipped with a competitive and viable strategy that reflects the realities of the .uk namespace.
-Professional, impartial and objective input with full disclosure of potential interests, as required by Nominet
-Implementing the governance changes needed to ensure that our .uk namespace remains a self-regulated, thriving and dynamic hub for Digital Britain
