Great Andrew !

That could be the solution to everyone's headache and i think it deserves to be read by ICANN staff, trademark holders and domain name registrants.

Seb - I read a draft of it that was circulating via email. I'll read the entire thing when I get a chance. An article might be a good idea.

Andrew,

Did you read Paul Keating's proposal to improve the current UDRP procedure instead of implementing the URS ?

His post can be found here : http://forum.icann.org/lists/irt-final-report/msg00190.html

The proposal starts at the end of page 17 in the pdf attached to his comment : http://forum.icann.org/lists/irt-final-report/pdfv2dSWZbHEC.pdf

This is by far the most brilliant proposal i've read in a long time.
I sincerely think it's good for both trademarks owners facing obvious cybersquatting cases and for generic domain owners.

I know some ICANN people (even Rod Beckstrom) read your blog and i think it would be great if you could write an article about it.

Darren - They will definitely read them. What they choose to do with them is another matter. Keep in mind there's a new boss at ICANN, and hopefully a new vibe.

Andrew, what is the over/under on whether or not they will even read these submissions by the domain industry?

@Andrew - "Let’s do this right. Let’s find a solution to protect all legitimate parties. Let’s do it through the appropriate process."

Exactly. Fair & balanced with due consideration made, not only to trademark holders, but also the millions of domain registrants around the world who stand to be victimized by the URS.

One would think ICANN do not have to be reminded of something so important & so obvious. But ...
