Stephen – I don’t see the jobs value in this domain. In the private sector people spell it “controller”. It’s only in the public sector that the “comptroller” spelling is still used.

Is “I hate you if you got this domain for low five digits” too strong a statement? (Seriously, I have no idea at the time of this post on how much you paid).

However much you paid for Comptroller.com, I’ll give you a free Successclick.com appraisal, low end:

Minimum Value of Comptroller.com: $75,000

8.6 million google results, but strangely only one adsense ad. But this is a HUGE PLUS for you, since you can pick up adword bids for cheap, while you build this domain into a directory for comptroller jobs… affiliate connects with Monster.com and yahoo jobs, etc etc. Okay, I don’t want to give you my development ideas for free, unless, of course, you want to send me a 25 year old bottle of scotch. THEN we can talk.

Your other picks were very nice too. Congrats, you crazy madman (I got your number, Mister “I Look Innocent But I Will Rule The World”)

Good deal on comptroller! I think TechnologyCareers was worth a bit more of a fight, but the nice thing about being a domainer at the auctions these days is I rarely feel like I really missed out one one if I don’t get it. There is always another deal that catches my eye right around the corner. Its those domains I just can’t live without that get me into trouble. You win some, you lose some. It’s all about your portfolio as a whole and you’ve added a good one to your list.

I must admit and I agree with others. Yesterday was a day of bargains. not all names that sold yesterday were bargains but the most were.

I sold 1 and bought 1 .. both were bargains.

Hey Andrew – welcome to auctions as that is how they work…..you had a budget and others had budgets higher and lower…I know you already know that so I am just kidding.

There were a ton of good names priced to get action and as some of you said, there was some nice action on some of the domains with multiple bidders.

I will state that I bet more than 95% of the names purchased yesterday were at great ROI for the seller….even those that were sold in the $300 – $1K range. most were purchased for $7 – $10 so that is exception ROI in any investment.

There are a bunch of names still available so if you are having second thoughts on some that you want to buy, we are working with sellers to get them sold. Just contact Sales@moniker.com with the domain you are interested in….as we work the after auction list pretty hard. Yesterday’s total was a very respectable $459K and we will go well over $500K with after auction deals.

Andrew, you made out like a bandit with Comptroller.com. Great buy

I think so. It had been offered at auctions many times, but not with that low of a reserve. Some guy showed up and bid me up $750 above the reserve, but I still think it was a good deal.
