ICANN’s top brass has expensive tastes and to fuel that, they need hard money.

Thus the gTLD brand dilution.

I believe it’s a very bad decision.

gTLDs should remain largely undiluted.

Arguing with Tim Berbers-Lee about the future of the web would be like debating Thomas Jefferson about the validity of the Declaration of Independence. I can’t wait to see how the proponents of these vanity TLDs are going to refute his logic.
