The source on the cancellation item was Skip Hoagland. Skip has been trying to tear down Associated Cities to promote his own “Geodomain.com” company while also serving on the AC board then leaking internal board information.

He is the registrant of the competitive http://whois.domaintools.com/geoexpo.com

Fortunately, there is a lot of popular support for the expo, so Ron’s unfortunate post hasn’t dimmed enthusiasm for the Expo… in fact, it has created a groundswell.

This, plus the fact that the Geodomain Expo always has the best looking attendees

@ Domainer @ RKB – no need to apologize about linking to DNJ. Ron is a good friend, as are Elliot, the guys at DNN, etc.

I know that a major player(s) in Associated Geos recently resigned from the board. So there’s definitely some sort of issue going on there. Hopefully they get it back on track.

Ron made a posting today saying that the Geo conference might not be cancelled.
