Let&#039;s face it, 99% of this is backlash from the fact that very few city.coms are owned by their respective city&#039;s CVB, Chamber or city governments, but they have no one to blame but themselves.  Way back when, they were listening to their webmasters who assured them they already had &quot;assigned&quot; names (remember those?) and when they could have bought their names for a song (every Geo owner I know have sold their names for 100K each in 1997-98), again they were told by their webmasters that &quot;no domain is worth that much.&quot;</description>
