22.com Sells for $100,000

Domain auction ends with over 50 bids.

A dozen bidders placed over 50 bids in an auction at Sedo for 22.com. The end result was a sale for $100,000. Bidding rocketed up to $99,000 with two days to go, and then stalled until the final bid was place today. In order to bid over $100,000, buyers most obtain Premium Plus Certification.

The seller is Virtual Network SA of Switzerland. Hopefully we’ll know the identity of the buyer in a couple weeks.

There’s another two number auction at Sedo picking up steam. 08.com has two days to go and is already at $103,300. Only two bidders have placed bids.

Sedo’s next GreatDomains auction runs February 19-26. It will feature another 2 number domain name — 90.com — with a reserve between $100,000 and $250,000. Other good domains in the auction include:

CigarBar.com $5,000-$10,000
Raise.com 10,000-25,000 EUR
Wineries.com $100,000-$250,000
ForeclosureSale.com $10,000-$25,000

The first Sedo No Reserve auction starts February 26, and includes a number of good domain names, all with no reserve. Inventory includes: 9b.com, bra.info, deposits.com, dogclubs.com, february.org, mje.com, and you.info.

I believe it was good purchase for the buyer and the seller.

Not knowing how accurate or complete the data is from namebios, here is what shows in their database for the past 3 yrs.

    94.com $81,000 1/3/2009 private sale
    25.com $124,556 12/24/2008 sedo.com
    11.com $188,889 8/20/2008 private sale
    93.com $75,000 5/29/2008 private sale
    49.com $91,500 1/24/2008 sedo.com
    32.com $50,000 11/14/2006 Sedo
    20.com $75,000 8/22/2006 Sedo

Naturally, we have no idea how many other sales were not disclosed over the past 3 yrs.
