I noticed this last night when trying to go to the hotel's website. I had to go to Marriot.com through the link on DomainFest.com's site. How Ironic!

Checking the Whois, it looks like they've renewed the domain name. However, they've only renewed for a year till 2010! Maybe you could all chip in when you're down there and help them afford to renew for a whole 5 or 10 years! My main company domain (which I cannot afford to lose) is always renewed 5 years ahead...

Francois - the difference here is that this is essentially a trademark name. If it were something generic - like HollywoodHotels.com, then the pay-per-click links would provide value.

"Don’t try to lookup hotel information at RenaissanceHollywood.com"

LOL

This is comic as you indirectly admit that when a domain is parked the information it provides is useless and there is no interest to type-in!

Wow- good catch, Andrew. We'll let the hotel know. In the meantime, if anyone needs to book a room at the Renaissance for DOMAINfest, here's an alternative link: http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/laxrh-renaissance-hollywood-hotel-and-spa/?groupCode=domdoma&app=resvlink
