Stupid Domain Name Press Release of the Week

This press release just might top them all.
Domain Name Wire readers know I have a special place in my heart from silly press releases about domain names. I especially enjoy press releases touting domain names listed on eBay. In “Anatomy of a Domain Name Press Release“, I wrote about the three steps in these comical releases:
1. Establish demand for your domain
2. Quote top DNJournal sales prices
3. Explain why your domains is worth as much as those DNJournal sales prices
Now I’ve seen one that may just win the prize (thanks Adam for the forward). Not only is it one of the worst domains ever, but the claims in the press release will have you laughing all day. I originally added my comments to the press release, but this one is so outlandish that I don’t think it needs any commentary.
The press release follows…
“The Coolest Dude” in the World will be crowned at Ebay
(Is it YOU or someone you know?)
www.TheCoolestDu.de will become one of the most coveted Supreme Web-Addresses in the world because it is the “Crown of Crowns” in modern times covering all sports, fashion, style and entertainment industries.
IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(December 7, 2008, Las Vegas, NV) A new web address extension [.de] opens the way for “Supreme Web-Addresses.” A Supreme Web Address is when the extension (.com, .org, .net, etc) is included to complete the spelling of the entire address. This means that Supreme Web-Addresses cannot be surpassed by the creation of future web-address extensions.
“www.TheCoolestDu.de is more than just a supreme web-address or premium internet real-estate, it is undeniably the “Crown of Crowns” in modern times. It’s the latest trend in domain names,” according to Rever Thabiti, Sr. V.P. of Sales & Mktg. for LoveTheName.com. He adds, “an address like this will have lots of women competing for ownership as well, either to personally crown their husband or boyfriend with it, or to those who want to, let’s say, ’stick it to the man’ by making a man come to a woman for the title. There is someone living in every neighborhood around the globe who believes that this title belongs to him, from Joe Six-pack to Hugh Heftner.”
He adds, “Dotcoms (.com), were not big enough to accommodate the global demand for good web-addresses so they had to make more web-address extensions. Now there is .uk for United Kingdom, .us for United States, .ca for Canada, .st for Sao Tome and .de for Denmark Germany.” To further punctuate the importance of this new extension portal, is to character-type similar previous communication types as 800 numbers having to transform into 866 and traditional seven-digit phone numbers now needing three digit area code prefixes. To further elaborate on this new trend in web-addresses, LoveTheName.com also has the “best web-address in the world,” literally! And this is proven whenever someone types www.TheBe.st.
TheCoolestDu.de is the perfect domain name for entities representing the sports, fashion, style and entertainment industries for a variety of goods and services. Consider just how profitable the initial sales of domains were during the emergence of the world wide web, due to the growing popularity and relevance of internet commerce groups of entrepreneurs who were quickly turned into MILLIONAIRES by being the first to register a domain name. The same now holds true for the lucky winner in the TheCoolestDu.de auction set on E-Bay for Saturday December 13th!
The Associated Press reports that over 90,000 new web-addresses are registered everyday around the world and this means that anyone who enters into this newest internet faction is certain to gain high popularity for their sites as well as see major R.O.I (return on investment).
According the DNJournal.com, (a leading publication for the industry) reports that the [.de] is selling very well. Just last week Kredit.de sold for $1,169,175, Casino.de sold for $625,060 and Deals.de sold for $102,182. Also, the DNJournal shows that the trend towards “Supreme Web-Addresses” is taking root in the market. Last month, Date.Me sold for $70,000 and Taxi.Us sold for $35,000 and there is more on the horizon.
Thabiti says he has no idea how much TheCoolestDu.de will fetch in the auction but he is certain that whoever is fortunate enough to capture it will have several things working in their favor. He states “First, this address comes with perpetual appreciation in value due to the fact that the nature of each generation will produce someone who is better, faster, stronger, ‘cooler’ and will pay more to buy it from the last guy. Second, this address is not TheCoolestDude.com or TheCoolestDude.net, this address is TheCoolestDu.de, period! This is not a dot after copycat and will always stand out above the rest for all times.”
In this current time when “dudes” of all ages are joining social networks as Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace the one who wins this domain auction is sure to reign supreme in their desire for the ultimate chops or cool factor. What this translates into for their personal life is unlimited however it is easy to see how they can translate their new TheCoolestDu.de site into high profits with supreme social status.
This auction is scheduled for Saturday December 13th at Ebay.com (in the featured domain names section). TheCoolestDu.de will simply go to the highest bidder.

I’m crossing my fingers on this one. I will take a second on my house, whatever it takes to get this domain name.
Hmmm,
Maybe he will offer TheDumbestDu.de next.
I love how he refers to .de as a “new” domain.

Chutzpah!
But who knows? Maybe it will work out for the seller.

So bad even a(nother) foolish ‘net startup wouldn’t use it.
what if he sells it big? I doubt it, but I’ve seen even dumber stuff sell for a bucket of cash on ebay before.
Some more chuckles can found on that LoveTheName.com site!! And they even can provide single letter extensions for personal names! ..didn’t know there was single letter extensions..
@ Kevin – those single letter domains require a browser plug-in to view. I think some are new.net names.
@ JP – then he can thank me for the publicity
