DNW Launches Domain Name Registrar Review Site

RegistrarJudge.com allows users to rate domain registrars.

I’m excited to announce the launch of the beta for RegistrarJudge.com.

Registrar Judge allows domainers and other consumers to rate domain registrars on 5 criteria and write reviews about them. Domain registrars are automatically ranked on the site according to the ratings.

There are lots of forums and other discussions about domain registrars, but I haven’t found a simple way to rank and review domain registrars all in one place.

Using Registrar Judge.com is simple and no registration is required.

1. Click on the registrar you’d like to review.
2. Fill out your name and e-mail address (e-mail address is not published)
3. Optionally fill out your web site address (hint: this creates a link back to your site)
4. Rate the registrar based on Overall, Price, Security, Customer Service, and Account Management Tools. These are the aspects rated most important by people who have completed the Domain Name Wire annual survey the past few years.
5. Click submit

Of course, Registrar Judge is only valuable if the community contributes. So head on over to the site and submit a couple reviews. Right now you can submit reviews on 12 of the largest domain registrars and more will be added in the future.

If Registrar Judge takes off, then I’ll proceed with my plans to develop ParkingJudge.com to rate domain name parking companies.

We started buying domain names in 1995, when about the only game in town was Network Solutions. We have had experiences with 10 or so registrars.

Having a rating service, by the people, is a great way of policing registrars practices. We also commend you Andrew for your efforts in this important area.

We found through many negative experiences our way to Moniker, with most of our properties. We find moniker to be the most transparent of all the top tier registars. Please keep on earning our trust.

I have been doing some research and it seems that its not always best to take the cheapest option, what do you think?.
