With the stock market being so volatile at the moment, good domain names are a good investment that not only increase over time, but can also be used to create a web presence!

Some but not all domains are right for selling to end users. You need industry terms or geo industry domains that would be a good fit for marketing an end user's business.

I have developed a process and posted the steps here http://SellingToEndUsers.com (link posted with the editor's permission).

First you harvest the list of potential end users from search engine results from keywords related to the domain (some tools will let you dig down 40 deep into search results).

Then you screen out the unqualified prospects. Then you dig in to find the senior level decision makers. Then you pitch the opportunity to them individually so it's not spam. Also, do some cold calling and you will have some success.

It's great to talk with an end user who understands the power of a generic domain that represents their industry, product or service.

Adam,
This is great news! Have you targeted OMMA?
They have a one day conference coming up July 22 in San Francisco on gaming (video).

"The gaming industry generates more revenue than CD music sales and movie box office. It is responsible for more time spent online than any other entertainment form."
Media post

Then of course OMMA Global Sept 18-19th is going to be a huge opportunity with all of Mad Ave being represented... Could be a great opportunity!

Andrew,

Thanks for the nice post. To your point, reaching end-users creates more demand for all of us. For more information about promoting your domains to end-users, call our VP of Sales Jason Miner at 781-839-2841.

Thanks,
Adam Gross
