@ David - I'm going to try to make it. I might grab a late flight Saturday night, which means I'd miss the geodomain awards...

It took a while to nail down the co-promotion deal with The Kelsey Group and mid-July was their best window of availability to co-promote the Expo with them.

The Geodomain Expo Chicago program, speakers, sponsors and ticket sales all skyrocketed immediately after Ron Jackson first announced it on 5/20 and it already appears that this year's conference will double in attendence from last year's Expo in San Francisco. In addition, The Kelsey Group's co-promotion of the Expo will bring this conference to an unprecedented media level for all domainers.

And seriously, how many domainers need that much notice to attend an event? Most domainers I know (including me and my brother) make their decision about 3-4 weeks out.

@ David, speaking of conferences, do you know why the Geo conference was scheduled with about 6 weeks notice?

@ Rob - I don't know. Perhaps the good venues in Manhattan were booked? I think it will affect attendance a bit, and it certainly affects the psyche. Does anyone else think that holding it in Brooklyn makes it seem like we're going second rate here?
