Dot-us will rise in prestige surely. It is US, and dot-com will decline as no names left and as the world goes by ccTLDs.

"...Chrismas.co.uk has attracted 14 bids and is currently £13,000 ($27,000 USD), but the reserve isn’t met...."

That's news to me and as the owner of the domain, I can confirm that it isn't for sale.

Regarding domainer bias it really doesnt matter what domainers think when it comes to sales values for this tld. You wont get fair value selling to domainers. It matters what the end-users think and when they buy they pay well for .us. If anything the bias has been what has made it possible for those of us who are quietly acquiring this tld to enjoy the degree to which we control it. Sales are not being reported and wont be until we are finished at the table. As far as type-ins go, while important, this is only one guage for value and all it takes is some company like google, yahoo, gm etc to start using it for type-in to grow from present levels and therefore open up new markets for .us

Well, looks like we were right to be skeptical as the auction has been pulled from Sedo. That said, this domain is worth much more than $99, Levin :)

It does not matter if it is worth it or not, none of us bought it so why care? It can only be good for future sales of other domain names people own. Sets the bar.
