Since apparently it wasn't clear when I asked my questions, they were extremely rhetorical and only posed to spark some (much needed at the time) discussions among the panelists.

Sorry, who "needs" a multi-million domain name? I think there is a bubble, but that is only becuase there are always ups and downs to the economy. If you don't know about the fall of Rome and other great cultures, then you think it will last forever... :-)

It's easy to pass on 8x earning when you have millions. The question is how much higher can the domain market go? If you like risk, then hang on and go for it, I can't blame you. But if I had a domain worth more than $500 and got a good offer (1x or more) then it would be sold, sold, sold!

"...we just realized we don’t own the domain name." That line was one of the funniest I have read in a long time. I hope their client found out about that. I wish I knew the name of the agency that is that clueless...

Thanks for the newsletter - people that have not signed up are missing a great publication!

Hi, I saw this referenced at http://www.SubliminalMessages.com and I agree with Frank. Yes, domain purchasing is a irrational bubble right now, but it's not unfounded. People really need these things. This ain't the hula hoop or the tulip craze of 1634 -- it's a ticket to a successful and profitable LOCATION on the internet. You know the three rules of real estate. No diff.

I have personally sold at a couple of my domains recently to ad agencies. The comment made about ad agencies not being able to get around including a good internet campaign and successful domain name for their customers campaigns is right on the money. Thanks again Andrew for the coverage of today's roundtable.
