First GreatDomains Domain Name Auction Starts Thursday

Online auction to feature premium dot.com domains.

Sedo acquired GreatDomains last month and immediately announced plans to use the site for premium auctions. Its first premium auction will start this Thursday, July 19 at 2:00pm EST. GreatDomains’ premium auction events will be held once per month and last seven days.

Hopefully Sedo will be able to parlay its success with Sedo auctions to GreatDomains, especially with its emphasis on premium domains. Domain registrar GoDaddy, which owns aftermarket site TDNAM, also plans to introduce a premium auction service in the future.

Current Sedo customers can submit their domains for future premium auctions. Go to “manage your domains” in Sedo. Check the box next to the names you want to submit, then use the drop down box on the bottom of the page.

Here are some of the better domains that you can bid on at GreatDomains starting Thursday:

Dads.com
Europeans.com
StockQuotes.com
Wealth.com
Shrimp.com
Whisky.com
Remix.com
Team.com
Equipment.com

Guy.com
Subscription.com
Debit.com
Sweatpants.com
LicensePlates.com
