Robert, have you contacted Sedo about that? If someone were to run up the price then they'd be shill bidding (which is against terms/laws in some areas). Generally speaking I prefer to place bids at the last minute rather than placing proxies.

I had my website built a few days ago. It has an affiliate, some rss feeds, and adsense ads and that's it. When I go to a certain page on my site the phising filter pops up. I alerted microsoft about this and they said the problem should be fixed within 24 hours.

Have you considered doing a story on the flaws in SEDO's auction system. After you make an offer on a domain and the owner puts it into auction if you put in a proxy bid the owner knows that you have put in a proxy bid because it now says the number of bids is 2 but the original price stays the same.
If you decide to increase your proxy bid the owner will know that also because the number of bids will be 3 but the price will stay the same. With this info the owner can run up the price of his own auction.

How can a major company like sedo have a serioulsy flawed auction system?

When people catch on to this they won't put in proxies hence costing sellers money.

What are the legal ramifictions for Sedo?
