Promotional offer for $5.99 domain names ends December 31.
The world’s largest domain registrar, GoDaddy, is offering special pricing on .com domain names through the end of the year — $5.99 plus $.25 ICANN fee, or $6.24 total. The pricing is not good for renewals and transfers. In order to get this special pricing, customers must enter coupon code gdh1219a during checkout.
GoDaddy recently started its advertising campaigns with new spokeswoman Danica Patrick of IndyCar fame. In an email to customers, GoDaddy said:
“At Go Daddy®, we thrive on competition, speed and power. IndyCar® star Danica Patrick is no different. While Go Daddy is the hottest thing on the Internet, Danica’s tearing up the track.
Now we’re combining our talents, and that can only mean one thing: The HOTTEST deals on the ‘Net coming at you… FAST!”
This is some of the best pricing GoDaddy has offered. GoDaddy has previously advertised .com domains as low as $1.99, but getting this price required an additional purchase.

1and1 Internet http://www.1and1.com has been offering domain registrations for $5.99 since like forever.

you can certainly get them for cheaper than GoDaddy, but managing domains at 1and1 is a pain.
