The silent auction portion of the TRAFFIC/Moniker auction netted over $600k.
If the $4.5M+ in sales at the live auction in Florida last week wasn’t enough, the silent auction sold another $600,000 worth of domains.
Domains that didn’t sell in the live auction went to the silent auction, as did a number of domains that weren’t selected for the live auction. You can see a complete list of the domains sold in the silent auction here.
I sold one domain at the live auction (blogs.info) and one in the silent auction (relinquish.com).
The silent auction was ripe with bargains, especially at the low end of the spectrum. I was surprised to see Austin.biz sold for $2,360, given that it sold for $4,500 back in 2004. I do think $4,500 was a bit high, but it’s frustrating to see a domain sell today for less than a couple years ago. Perhaps it’s a sign of the fate of .biz, which seems to be taking a back seat to .info, .us, and others. Or perhaps it’s just a sign that someone overpaid for the domain a couple years ago.
Here are some of the bargains:
electronicsignature.com $1,298 (HUGE bargain!)
iracontributions.com $1,298
collegedormitory.com $1,180
healthpolicies.com $1,180
usedimports.com $1,180
