DNJournal isn’t publishing its sales chart this week, but I’ve got your back.
Are you one of those people that visits DNJournal on Tuesday nights and starts hitting the refresh button until the new sales chart is released? Then you’re probably experiencing withdrawal this week. DNJournal editor Ron Jackson is in Florida for the TRAFFIC conference and isn’t publishing this week.
But fear not. I can at least whet your appetite with some known sales. I don’t have access to all of Ron’s sales data, but I can provide you with at least a partial picture to help you feed your addiction until next week.
Let’s start with the biggie – SPN.com – which sold for $95,000 EUR at Sedo. That’s equivalent to about $120,000 USD.
Sedo also has a number of domains in its new auction format that are attracting attention but haven’t sold yet. Tractors.com is up to $71,000, equipment.com $31,000, and Pottery.com $29,500, but none of these have met their reserve.
Afternic has been on a terror lately. Here are some of their notable sales:
DVD.tv $5,000
ABCF.com $5,500
YouFly.com $27,778
9out.com $7,250
TVspot.com $8,900
TrustGuard.com $10,000
MyGo.com $31,000
I’ve been really impressed with sales of .us domains recently. I received a $5,500 offer for Wifi.us, which I rejected. If you take a look at the number and quality of .us sales recently you’ll understand:
Invest.us $6,500
Gifts.us $5,300
Consulting.us $2,940
Perhaps the steal of the week goes to Zilker.com, which sold for $1,000 at Afternic. BuyDomains was the seller. Living in Austin, I know the value of this name. It’s the name of Austin’s most popular park (The Rolling Stones just played there on Sunday) and the name of a couple companies, inlcuding Zilker Labs. But alas, it doesn’t appear to have sold to anyone connected to Austin at all. Instead, it was purchased by a guy with the last name Zilker who lives in Houston.
